Oisin's Digital Diary

August 4th, 2026

First of all, let me get something straight: this isn't a digital diary. this is a digital JOURNAL I know what it says on the header, but this is a manly and masculine cyber journal and NOT a "digidiary"

Great. All I need is for some jerk to find this website and get the wrong idea.

Second thing I want to get cleared up: this was Tara's idea, not mine. I guess she wanted me to "escape the chains of algorithmic and depersonalised social media" and "express my feelings" or whatever, but don't expect me to be all "dear digidiary" this and that

OK, 'niche' childhood reference aside, hello! My name is Oisin, and I am a nearly 20 year old student from Ireland. I am a bit of a doomer, and I have long been disgusted by the addictive algorithims and surveillance systems used by major social media platforms, and the seemingly inherent need to be 'mainstream' from my generation. Everyone seems perfectly fine to give away all their data to Zuckerberg and his cronies, in exchange for some likes from people they haven't met in years, and haven't liked in longer. I also am fascinated with the technology of the 90's and early 00's (I've been told I'm a old head on young shoulders), and I like collecting (or at least the idea of collecting, I'm broke as hell) old physical media. I have a beautiful, cute, gorgeous, kind and glamorous girlfriend, and she has her own webpage, so that's where the idea for this webpage came. I want a place to express myself that's uniquely mine, and not just a tiled profile on instagram where the only form of customisation is the music ypu choose fro your post.

Speaking of music, I have recently stopped using streaming services such as Spotify and YTMusic, in favour of sailing the seven seas. (Not that I was paying for it beforehand) I use SoulSeek (in Minecraft) to download songs and even entire albums in high quality, I've even downloaded a few movies(in Minecraft) and it's my goal to eventually get a Digital Audio Player with physical buttons so I can become a sort of retro-digital pirate (hypothetically... in Minecraft)

I don't know why I'm being so cautious, It's not as if the government is going to beat down my door... yet... but who knows what lies in wait for the digital minecraft pirate when there's goverment lobbying at play...

I study Computer Science with a minor in German, and I am infact doing my Erasmus in Germany in just under a month, so I'm very excited to get to blog all about that and share my experience on the continent. I'm moving over and living with my previously mentioned bombshell of a girlfriend, which is what I'm most excited about. She's the sweetest, kindest and sexiest woman I have ever had the honour of even meeting, and I'm super excited to share this chapter of my life with her.

Me and my wife

I hope to have a good time in Germany, potentially get a computer science internship and experience the German culture and country through immersion.

Other than that, I'm just just a regular old nerdy guy. I play video games (I Love Zomboid) and meet with my small group of good mates on the regular. I used to hit the gym fairly conistent, but I stopped over the summer, with hopes to start again in Germany. I'm currently an unemployed chud, after having been a wage slave for 4 years on a local farm, although I hope to get a few temporary gigs before my trip abroad for a bit of cash money. Anyways, that's all from me now. Goodbye!!
